The Muse New York achieves Green Seal certification

NEW YORK — Kimpton''s The Muse New York, a 200-room boutique midtown Manhattan hotel, was awarded GS-33 Green Seal certification at the Silver level, making it the first Kimpton hotel in New York City to be certified and the 34th Kimpton property overall to be awarded the honor, according to Hotelworld.

The recognition is an important third-party validation of The Muse New York''s eco-friendly daily operational practices, and allows the hotel to more effectively measure its reductions in waste, energy and water consumption, the article stated.

The Muse New York''s certification is part of a larger initiative set by the San Francisco-based hospitality group in March 2010, the article stated.

According to the article, nearly all hotels in the Kimpton collection have completed the thorough application process for Green Seal certification.

Upon final inspection of each hotel and approval by Green Seal''s certification team, Kimpton will become the first multi-unit hotel company to attain 100 percent Green Seal certification at the Silver level of all open and established hotels in 2010, the article added.
