Students rally for custodian

April 15, 2011

OTTAWA — Students running in the Ottawa Race Weekend will have a little extra spring in their step this year, according to the Metro.

Students from the Turnbull School running in the race are raising money for the Ottawa Hospital Foundation, and on May 14, the students are running for custodian Joe Fatoric, who is undergoing colon cancer treatment, the article stated.

The students kicked off their fundraising campaign yesterday, which they are calling the "Jog for Joe" campaign, the article noted.

"I feel really good today," said Fatoric, who hopes to be able to cheer on the kids in May.

"They showed a lot of support for me, so I''ve got to do something for them," Fatoric added.
