Special-needs students find work
SCOTTSDALE, AZ — A Scottsdale program trains students in landscaping and building maintenance, according to The Arizona Republic.
Through the program, run by the Scottsdale Unified School District, students who suffer from autism can earn a summer job with the school''s building services team, the article stated.
According to the article, the program, Team 7, enlists the support of building services staff district wide to help train students in special educational vocational classes.
Team 7 students are responsible for a number of duties, including maintaining the grounds at their schools, building signs, maintaining sprinklers and performing other maintenance jobs throughout the buildings, the article noted.
