Senior housing residents complain of mold

DURHAM, NC — Residents at a senior citizen housing development are voicing their concerns to authorities about mold contamination in their homes, according to WNCN-TV.
The mold, caused by water leaks, has completely destroyed some residents'' kitchen cabinets and rotted wood framing and housing supports and ruined carpets, the story stated.
Many are complaining that the mold is causing health problems, including respiratory ailments and sinus infections, the story noted.
Complaints abound that maintenance crews, instead of properly remediating the problem mold, have simply covered it up by painting over it, the story added.
