School district custodians reach agreement

August 11, 2010
MASSAPEQUA, NY — The Massapequa School District has come to a new labor agreement with their custodians'' union, according to the Massapequa Patch.
The custodians have been working without a contract for three years and the contract is retroactive to 2007, according to Massapequa School Superintendent Charles Sulc.
The new contract would give the custodians a three percent raise the first year and two percent raises over the next three years, with the agreement expiring in 2011, the article stated.
Included in the memorandum of agreement is a clause that would allow the district to conduct blood and urine testing for drugs, the article noted.
