School board okays outsourcing
ASHLAND, MO — The board of education for the Southern Boone County R-1 district has approved contracts to outsource custodial services, according to the Boone County Journal.
The move away from employee-based custodial services is similar to the arrangement the district has for food services with OPPA!, the article stated.
"This will allow our administration to focus on the task at hand — education of our students — as well as save the district money," said Superintendent Charlotte Miller.
According to the article, the district approved a contract with Kansas City-based PCI, which will now be in charge of custodial, maintenance and ground services.
