Restaurant closed due to norovirus
WALNUT CREEK, CA — On Thursday, environmental health officials, acting on laboratory results, closed the California Pizza Kitchen, according to the Pinole Patch.
Contra Costa County Environmental Health Director Marilyn Underwood ordered the restaurant to be closed after laboratory results confirmed that staff and customers had norovirus, the article stated.
According to the article, county officials have linked the norovirus to a foodborne illness outbreak connected with salad served Thursday, June 7.
On Thursday evening, county officials went to the restaurant and posted a notice closing the restaurant under the authority of state law, the article noted.
