According to Gill, the certification process included coursework and examinations on best management practices and permitting required by rules and regulations governing land-disturbing activity. “As qualified personnel, one must follow the laws which regulate land-disturbing activity and which is defined as any activity that may result in soil erosion from water or wind and the movement of sediments into state water or onto lands within the state,” said Gill. “The certification also includes clearing, dredging, grading, buffers, excavating, transporting, and filling of land and some agricultural practices, among others,” he said.
Gill and Kevin L. Padgitt have owned the Paul Davis Restoration office in
Athens since January 2007 and serve customers in Athens-Clarke, Barrow, Elbert, Franklin, Greene, Hart, Jackson, Lincoln, Madison, Morgan, Newton, Oconee, Oglethorpe, Wilkes and Walton counties. The office has been operating in the area for more than 20 years.
