November 11, 2009
WASHINGTON — The Occupational Safety and Health Association (OSHA) has set two three-hour meetings for December 14 to give industry representatives and safety professionals the chance to respond to OSHA''s advance notice of proposed rule making (ANPRM) about combustible dust, according to Occupational Health & Safety.
The meetings, which are scheduled for 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the Marriott at Metro Center, will provide interested parties an opportunity to shape the coming standard that will address fire and explosion hazards of certain dusts, the story stated.
To participate in one of the scheduled or future stakeholder meetings, you must submit a notice of intent to participate by registering at https://www2.ergweb.com/projects/conferences/osha/register-osha-stakeholder.htm or fax the request to 1-781-674-2906, labeled "Attention: OSHA Combustible Dust Stakeholder Meeting Registration," the story noted.
The meetings will be group discussions about possible regulatory approaches, the scope and organization of the standard, the role of consensus standards, economic impacts and additional topics as time permits, the story added.
According to the story, Eastern Research Group Inc. will provide a facilitator and compile notes summarizing the discussion, which will be posted to www.regulations.gov, without identifying individual speakers.
