Officials planning for mold prevention
VINCENT, WV — While the issue of mold at Barlow-Vincent Elementary School has been resolved, school officials now need a plan to prevent its reoccurrence, according to the News and Sentinel.
As of Friday, the buildings and grounds committee had received reports that mold levels inside the school were at or below levels of mold on the outside, and while duct work is still taking place, teachers can begin to return to the building, the article stated.
According to the article, Winans Services, the company that did the mold cleanup, will be leaving industrial dehumidifiers at the school; but, a plan is needed to keep air moving in the building to stop mold from growing again.
A particularly humid summer has been pointed to as the culprit for the mold growth, the article noted.
