Since early October, 41 cases of hospital-acquired C. diff were reported and 21 other cases were noted where patients became infected outside of St. Joseph''s, the story stated.
A total of eight deaths have been reported during the outbreak; one death has been attributed to C. diff, while the remaining cases are under investigation, the story noted.
Hospital officials are still not able to pinpoint the source of the C. diff outbreak, the story added.
