Norovirus closes Harvard Faculty Club twice in one week
April 8, 2010
The Harvard Faculty Club, which was closed on March 30 because of a norovirus scare, will remain closed for at least seven days while the entire building is cleaned and disinfected, the story stated.
A cleaning crew was brought in to clean the Harvard Faculty Club following the initial norovirus scare and was deemed "spotless" by city inspectors, the story noted.
According to the story, though the city of Cambridge screened roughly 100 full- and part-time employees of the Harvard Faculty Club before it reopened for Easter Sunday brunch, the efforts were not enough to curb the spread of the virus.
Louise Rice, director of public nursing for the city of Cambridge, said: "It''s very hard to rub out entirely."
