Record Year for NFMT Conference & Expo in Baltimore
Milwaukee and Baltimore – Management for the NFMT Conference & Expo, a national trade show and educational conference for commercial and institutional building owners and facility managers has announced a record breaking year for its flagship event, which was held at the Baltimore Convention Center March 13-15. This year, NFMT attracted 176 new companies showcased in the exhibit hall, contributing to a total of 685 booths on display. Overall attendance was up three percent over last year, breaking previous records with 5,301 facility managers on-site for the big event.
“We couldn’t be more pleased with this year’s show,” said Todd Kotlarek, director of events for Trade Press Media, co-owner of NFMT. “The attendance was huge, the exhibit hall was enormous and the networking that took place was extremely fruitful. We are grateful to all of our attendees, speakers and exhibitors for making NFMT 2012 such an exciting and rewarding experience.”
With more than 120 educational sessions, NFMT is the country''s largest and most robust event dedicated to professionals responsible for the management, operations, maintenance, design and construction of commercial and institutional buildings. Conference sessions focused on sustainability, energy conservation, leadership, staff development, strategy, technology, security issues and more.
“When the expo opened up, it was like being in Grand Central Station – attendees were marching with a purpose,” added Frank J. Distefano of Goodway Technologies. “Many decision makers were arm lengths away, asking intelligent questions about our products. Within minutes, we had product interest; within seconds we had the contact info rolling out our printer. And the funny thing was, they were thanking me for scanning them!”
Throughout the three days in Baltimore, decision makers responsible for facility management, executive/property/asset management, construction and engineering management, maintenance and grounds care, operations and energy management gathered to do business and network across various sectors of the facilities management industry.
“I was blown away by the magnitude and wealth of facilities management information available under one roof,” said Melvin Vincent Pierce, Project Manager, Maryland Transit Administration. The programs were well attended, the product offerings were unparalleled and the networking was very collaborative. I look forward to next year already.”
