ISSA certifies CIMS experts
Forty-three JanSan professionals have earned certification as experts in ISSA’s Cleaning Industry Management Standard (CIMS), which codifies universally accepted principles of well-managed and customer-centered cleaning organizations.

Certified CIMS experts can provide training and consulting on how to comply with the new standard; to earn certification, they attended a one-day workshop in Rosemont, IL, on June 25 and passed an examination.

The 43 newly certified CIMS experts are:

Cameron Adams, Scott Comptois, Rob Kohlhagen and Tom Seitz of JohnsonDiversey; Judy Arnold and Matt Schenck of Midlab Inc.; and Antonio Arzate of AHI Facility Services.

Also, William Chakonas of NYCO Products; Duane Casey, John Irwin, and Kaiko Zureich of Impact Products; Rick Cobian, Michael Johnson, and Stan Mierzejewski of Tennant Co.

Also, Bradley Drury of Hydro Systems; William Eckhart and Robert Parillo of Pro-Link; Paul Ferruzza of Rochester Midland; Peter Gaudreau of White River Paper Co.; Karl Gnau of Network Services Co.; and Jim Henson of The Henson Sales Group.

Gulf Coast paper promotes managers
JanSan distributor Gulf Coast Paper Co. (GCPC) of Victoria, TX, has promoted several executives, effective September 1.

Randy Whiteaker, currently branch manager in Austin, TX, will become business development manager and AFFLINK healthcare specialist.

Michael Ray, Corpus Christi, TX, branch manager, will become Austin branch manager; Mike Trevino, a GCPC sales rep for 15 years, will become Corpus Christi branch manager; and Bryan Hauboldt, sales manager of the Victoria, TX, branch, will become branch manager in Victoria.

Spartan names regional manager
JanSan manufacturer Spartan Chemical Co. Inc. of Maumee, OH, has hired Mark Collins as regional manager of the Buffalo, NY, region.

Collins has more than 30 years’ experience in the JanSan industry.

4M hires sales VP
Building service contractor Mitch Murch’s Maintenance Management Company (4M) of St. Louis has hired Ray Thompson as corporate vice president of sales and marketing.

Thompson, who has nearly 15 years’ experience in the cleaning industry, comes to 4M from Windsor Industries, where he was a senior national account manager.

Impact CEO elected to head university board
The president and CEO of JanSan manufacturer Impact Products has been elected chairman of the board of trustees of Bowling Green State University.

John Harbal, a 1972 graduate of Bowling Green, has been a member of the board of trustees since 2001.

Harbal has been an active member of the Alumni Advisory Council of Bowling Green''s College of Business Administration, as well as the school''s Presidents and Falcons clubs.

IFMA Foundation names leaders
Houston-based International Facility Managers Association (IFMA) Foundation has appointed its 2008-09 executive committee and board of trustees.

Executive committee members include Melissa Van Hagen of the Bank of the West, chair; Peggy McCarthy of PMC Solutions, past chair; Pat Turnbull of Kayhan International, first vice chair; Pamela Ewton of Shell Real Estate, secretary/treasurer; and David Brady, IFMA president and CEO.

Other members of the board include Francis Kuhn, Jennifer Corbett-Shramo, Peter Kirk, Kathryn Lopez, Andreas Rohregger, Eric Teicholz, Stephen Ballesty, and David Hewett.

Henkel moves North American HQ
Consumer products and JanSan manufacturer Henkel of America, parent of Dial Corp., recently completed moving its North American corporate headquarters from Gulph Mills, PA, to Rocky Hill, CT.

Henkel moved about 80 corporate accounting, human resources, legal, and chief administrative officer positions to its existing Rocky Hill facility.

Also, Henkel promoted Jeff Piccolomini to president of Henkel of America Inc.
