Unger Appoints Vice President Of Sales

Unger Enterprises Inc. recently announced the appointment of William Lawrence as its new vice president of sales.

Lawrence joins Unger with more than 20 years of industry sales and leadership experience, including 14 years in various roles with the Tennant Company.

Lawrence''s responsibilities include the continued development of Unger sales throughout the United States, Canada and Latin America.

SCA Tissue Hires Vice President Of Product And Marketing

John Drengler was recently named vice president of product and marketing for SCA Tissue North America.

Drengler''s two decades of leadership and industry experience span a number of sales, marketing and executive roles, including management positions with Great Northern Corporation, Fort Howard Corporation and Wisconsin Tissue.

Drengler will direct the development and implementation of product and marketing strategies for the Away From Home tissue division of SCA in the United States and Canada.

AFFLINK Welcomes New Advisory Board Member

AFFLINK LLC, the only member-driven sales and marketing group in the JanSan industry, recently announced that Clay Dibble has accepted an invitation to become the latest member of their Advisory Board, effective immediately.

Dibble is currently the vice president of sales at Gulf Coast Paper Company Inc. where he has spent more than 20 years.

CMM Takes Home A GAMMA Award

Cleaning & Maintenance Management magazine (CMM) recently won a Bronze GAMMA Award for Best Feature in a Business-to-Business publication for the cover story from June 2009''s CM/Spotlight: Sustainability.

"Flower Power: The Next Step In Green Technology" was written by Virginia Petru of Petru & Associates and discussed how all-natural, plant-based product formulations are a safe and viable alternative to toxic cleaning chemicals.

The visual appeal of the four-page, award-winning spread is credited to Marty Harris, art director for Cleaning & Maintenance Management magazine.

Network Services Company Honors Top Performers

JanSan distributor organization Network Services Company recently honored five of its preferred suppliers for their outstanding performance in 2009.

Georgia-Pacific Professional was named Network Services Company''s Supplier of the Year while Rubbermaid Commercial Products LLC received the National Account Supplier Award.

Clorox Professional received the Marketing Partner Award and the O''Dell Corporation received the Rising Star Award.

Heritage Bag Company took home the GIP Stimulus Award.

SMA Welcomes New Member

Strategic Market Alliance (SMA) proudly announces that Chicago-based Inlander Brothers Inc. recently became an SMA member.

O,R&L Facility Services recently received The Office Building of the Year (TOBY) award in the government category from the Orlando Chapter of the Building Owners and Managers Association International (BOMA) for its work with Orlando''s City Hall.

The TOBY award is the most prestigious and comprehensive of its kind in the commercial real estate industry, recognizing quality and rewarding excellence in office building management.

EPA Makes Changes To Enhance DfE Program

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency''s (EPA) Design for the Environment (DfE) program recently enhanced its Standard for Safer Cleaning Products by establishing an auditing process that includes on-site and desk audits.

The recent enhancements also include provisions that allow recognition of products in certain continuous dispensing systems and clarifications of certain terms related to third-party partners.

The primary purpose of the newly adopted auditing process is to ensure that DfE-labeled products contain the same ingredients as were reported to DfE during the partnership development process.

Triple S Presents Annual Awards

Triple S presented Member and Supplier Awards at the recent three-day 2010 Clean Team Exhibit & Conference where nine awards were given out.

Two of the biggest awards of the conference were the President''s Award and the Supplier Excellence Award, which were presented to Michael Tighe of Industrial Cleaning Products Inc. and to John Ruston of Berry Plastics Corporation, respectively

GEI Achieves ISO Accreditation

The GREENGUARD Environmental Institute (GEI) recently announced that it has achieved ISO/IEC Guide 65:1996 accreditation — the world''s most prestigious endorsement of a product certification program as developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).

Conformity to these standards provides assurance that a certification program is of high quality, integrity and competency, and that it is free of any conflicts of interest, such as financial, commercial or social influences.
