Network identifies top 10 green cities

MIAMI — The Mother Nature Network recently released its list of the top 10 greenest cities in the United States, according to the MiamiHerald.com.
Mother Nature Network''s editorial team based its decisions on several key factors, including air and water quality, efficient recycling and management of waste, percentage of LEED-certified buildings, acres of land devoted to greenspace, use of renewable energy sources and easy access to products and services that make green lifestyle choices easy, reported the article.
The team chose the following 10 cities as scoring highest in those categories:
10. Austin, Texas
9. Chicago, Illinois
8. Seattle, Washington
7. Berkeley, California
6. Cambridge, Massachusetts
5. Eugene, Oregon
4. Oakland, California
3. Boston, Massachusetts
2. San Francisco, California
1. Portland, Oregon.
