Much will depend on the soiling of the carpet which will be determined by the frequency of interim cleaning. Whittaker say light soiling encapsulation can be done at a rate of 3000 to 4000 sf/hr. Medium soiling slows to 2000 to 3000 sf/hr, and heavy soiling (restorative cleaning) will move at the same pace, but with hot water extraction added at a rate of 500 to 900 sf/hr.
