Mold Proof release

March 30, 2009
Greensboro, NC: Local Company protects Bell family on March “Extreme Makeover Home Edition” Show.
A Tucson, AZ, foothills home will become the first Mold Proof home ever featured on ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. The Bell family was surprised by Ty Pennington and “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” to have a new home built in seven days.
Their daughter, Lizzie, was born with a rare blood condition, Diamond-Blackfan Anemia, which is characterized by a failure of the bone marrow to produce red blood cells. Additionally, their home is sinking with gaping cracks in the cement floor, suffers mold and termite problems and is in need of other repairs.
Mold Proof (based in both Kernersville, NC and Taylors, SC) is donating its permanent mold prevention system backed by a Lifetime Warranty to the Bell family. Mold Proof of Arizona, is working with other Mold Proof installers from Richmond, VA, Greensboro, NC and Nashville, TN to complete the installation. According to Mark Maier of Mold Proof, “No home should ever harm its family. And with a compromised immune system, Mold Proof will help to eliminate Lizzie Bell’s health risks”. Further, the products and practices used by the Mold Proof professionals are non-toxic, environmentally friendly and VOC compliant which are all essential to “Going Green”.
The Mayo Clinic has linked nearly all of the chronic sinus infections that trouble approximately 37 million Americans to mold. And recent studies have also linked mold to the tripling of the asthma rate over the past 20 years. Additionally, a Harvard University Study of 10,000 homes in the US and Canada found that over half of the homes had water damage and mold. The presence of mold was also associated with substantially higher levels of respiratory problems. In addition to the health risks, homes associated with mold have diminished property values by up to 60%!
Extreme Makeover: Home Edition Tucson aired on the local ABC affiliate KGUN-9 on March 22, 2009 at 8:00 p.m.
