Mold problem addressed
SCOTTSBORO, AL — Mold has been found in a large meeting room in the Scottsboro Public Library, according to The Daily Sentinel.
Stopped gutters and extreme rain are believed to be the main cause of the mold problem, the article stated.
According to the article, after the mold was discovered, insurance companies and roofing contractors were called in to survey both the roof and mold infected area.
"What we found out was that the roof had not been cleaned off properly, like we thought, which was causing the water to back up and come inside the building," said Mayor Melton Potter.
While children and parents coming in and out of the library will not be directly exposed to the mold, individuals with severe allergies to mold should avoid the area until it has been cleaned, the article noted.
