Making every day Earth Day
SHEBOYGAN, WI — Conserving the planet and the resources we have is something that needs to be done all the time, not just on Earth Day, reported The Lakewood College Mirror.
Many of the things we do in our day-to-day lives can be done slightly differently to give a bigger positive impact on the environment, such as shopping, drinking coffee and getting to work, the article reported.
For example, about 60,000 plastic bags are used in the U.S. every five seconds, and buying the 99 cent (or less) reusable bags from many stores can save the Earth a sizable amount of trouble, according to the article.
Getting a reusable coffee mug can also save a lot of paper, and many coffee houses (such as Starbucks) give discounts for bringing in your own receptacle, the article stated.
