Lowe's hit with $110,000 in fines for shoddy record-keeping

Four willful citations were noted at a Cincinnati location in October 2009, which resulted in $40,000 in penalties, the release stated.
A Dayton, Ohio, store was slapped with seven willful citations in November 2009 that carried a penalty of $70,000, the release noted.
According to the release, OSHA requires employers to record and maintain all occupational injuries and illnesses on the OSHA 300 log.
Lowe''s Home Centers Inc. has 15 business days from receipt of its citations and penalties to comply, request an informal conference with OSHA''s area director or contest the findings before the independent Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission (OSHRC), the release added.
