BETHLEHEM, PA — A Lehigh University janitor was recently accused of a string of 18 burglaries across campus, according to the Express-Times.
Jorge Dandrade, an employee of American Building Maintenance who worked on the Lehigh campus, allegedly stole $30,000 worth of laptop computers, camera equipment, iPods and other items during numerous burglaries dating back to December 8, 2009, the story stated.
The burglaries occurred in the Campus Square apartments, Drinker House, Taylor College and in several sorority houses, the story noted.
Dandrade, who American Building Maintenance officials claim was not allowed to roam the campus and was not scheduled to be in any of the locations at the time of the thefts, became a suspect after police cross-checked swipe card records that placed him at the scenes of the burglaries, the story added.
