Kimberly-Clark awards student with $20,000 scholarship

HUNTSVILLE, ON, Canada — A recent graduate from Huntsville High School received a $20,000 scholarship from the Kimberly-Clark Corporation, according to the Huntsville Forester.
The Kimberly-Clark Foundation’s Bright Futures program chose Jenny Smith for her diverse extracurricular activities and stellar grades, the story stated.
According to the story, Smith has, among many other endeavors, volunteered for the Ontario Winter Paralympic Championships in 2006 and has conducted musical performances for various retirement homes around the district.
Since its inception in 1993 in the United States and 1997 in Canada, the Kimberly-Clark Foundation’s Bright Futures program has distributed $30 million in scholarships to more than 1,500 students, the story noted.
The scholarship was presented to Smith by Brian Guardhouse, manager of Kimberly-Clark''s Huntsville mill, the story added.
