Janitorial services to be contracted out
HATTIESBURG, MS — The Petal School Board has approved a plan to contract out the school district''s janitorial services, according to the Hattiesburg American.
By hiring Rite Way Service to handle cleaning services district wide, the district will save nearly $160,000 a year, the article stated.
According to the article, Rite Way Service has agreed to hire the district''s 21 janitors and attempt to match their current salary.
Rite Way Service will also provide the janitors with health insurance and the opportunity to participate in a retirement plan, the article noted.
