Janitor's career spans 40 years
Four decades later, to call Price just a janitor doesn''t come close to describing what the man means to the Brookwood community, the article stated.
According to the article, his career has of course included all of the typical janitorial duties, but it has also included being someone students can talk to when they need an ear.
"I figured I might get my 25 years in and go home but I didn''t," said Price at a celebration held in his honor at La Casa Crimson restaurant in Brookwood.
Last Thursday, family and friends crowded the restaurant in order to honor Price as a "Hometown Hero," the article noted.
"We like to highlight someone who gives more to the community than just their job," said Paulette Kornegay, an agent with Modern Woodmen of America, a fraternal life insurance company.
"He goes above and beyond the call of duty. He''s at school before anyone else and is there when everyone has left," Kornegay added.
