BATON ROUGE, LA
— A janitor working at the Lake After Hours, a walk-in care facility for minor injuries and illnesses, was recently arrested in the alleged theft of prescription medication, according to WXVT-TV.
Jorge Alvarez, who is accused of stealing medication from an adjoining doctor''s office, was charged with five counts of burglary of a pharmacy and theft and one count of possession of a legend drug, the story stated.
Between September 29 and October 25, Alvarez was caught on video surveillance stealing medication from doctor''s offices five times, the story noted.
According to the story, the surveillance camera was installed after an employee at the doctor''s office noticed at least $300 worth of medicine was missing.
