WILKES-BARRE, PA — The Infection Control Department at the
Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center recently announced the winners of its inaugural poster contest, according to the
Dallas Post.

Schoolchildren were tasked with illustrating the importance of good hand washing as it applies to controlling the spread of viruses, bacteria and other infections, the story stated.
According to the story, nurses and other administrative leaders at the Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center voted to select the winning posters, for which the artists received gift cards.
The winners include: First runner-up Victoria Atkinson, a 9-year-old third grader from the
Wilkes-Barre Academy; second runner-up Claudia Leu, a 10-year-old fourth grader from the
Dallas School District; and third runner-up Brooke Stevens, a 9-year-old fourth grader from the
Hanover Area School District, the story noted.
The grand-prize winner, Megan Wysocki, an 11-year-old sixth grader from the
Wyoming Area School District, will have her poster displayed throughout the medical center this winter, the story added.
