SAN DIEGO, CA — A janitor employed by ABM Janitorial was discovered to be using the Social Security number of a California 12-year-old, according to KNSD-TV.
Mayra Tejeda''s daughter was discovered to be the victim of identity theft when a government employee discovered the 12-year-old had a work history dating back to 2002, when the girl was only three, the article stated.
According to the article, investigators linked the Social Security number back to Imelda Martinez-Hernandez, an employee with ABM Janitorial.
"All she was doing was using a Social Security number to get a job, what it ends up doing is it causes this 12-year-old to clean up that mess; that can take several years," said Lt. Carter.
