IFMA Forms New Chapter in Albany, New York
HOUSTON — The International Facility Management Association is pleased to announce the formation of its newest chapter, the NY Tech Valley Chapter of IFMA, located in Albany, New York.
The chapter was formed to promote the facility management profession and to highlight educational opportunities available to IFMA stakeholders throughout the Capital District of upstate New York and surrounding areas. It is IFMA’s first new domestic chapter since 2005.
The chapter has identified its leadership for the inaugural term, consisting of a four-person executive board. Oleh Turczak, of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, is president; Daniel Green, of Farm Family Insurance, is vice president; David Hammons, of RD Weis Companies, is treasurer; and Carolina Rock, of Express Scripts, is secretary.
About 35 facility professionals and associates have already joined the chapter.
“Being a member of a prestigious organization such as IFMA is a privilege because the extent to which you can get involved knows no bounds,” said Turczak. “The saying ‘you get what you put into it’ is the best way to describe the benefits. The success of our chapter hinges on the involvement of each member. Members can grow both personally and professionally from the benefits of this chapter, so I encourage them to get involved.”
The IFMA board of directors gave approval to the formation of the NY Tech Valley Chapter of IFMA in April at the association’s Facility Fusion conference in Philadelphia, Penn. The board will formally present the charter certificate to chapter leaders July 30 at Proctor’s Theater in Schenectady, New York.
