Anyone who is directly and materially affected by the carpet inspector reference guide can apply for committee membership; membership is neither conditional upon membership in any organizations nor unreasonably restricted on the basis of technical qualifications or other such requirements, the release noted.
According to the release, there will be between 12 and 15 voting members of the committee and more than 20 volunteers assigned to specific subcommittees and topics, with much of the work being done online and via conference calls.
Committee membership applications will be reviewed by the standards consultant, committee chair and vice chair and those selected will be notified by Monday, November 30, 2009, the release added.
