BUENA, NJ — The gymnasium at Buena Regional High School will be dedicated tonight in honor of Charles "Charlie" Johnson, a custodian who worked at the school since its opening in 1973, according to The Daily Journal.
According to the story, Johnson, who passed away last summer at the age of 78, was an integral part of the athletic program and a beloved community member.
Football coach Paul Callahan said: "Everyone goes to work or goes home, but he actually cared. He was Buena."
Several family members will attend the dedication of the Charles Johnson Memorial Gymnasium, including his niece, Brenae Johnson, who plays basketball and soccer at the high school, the story stated.
Now, sports teams visiting the gym will be greeted with a sign saying "Welcome to Charlie’s House," the story added.
