Green Seal Reduces Fees For Certification Under GS-42

September 19, 2010

Green Seal Inc. has released a revised fee schedule for certification under the GS-42 Standard for Commercial & Institutional Cleaning Services.

These new, more affordable fees are a reflection of Green Seal''s more efficient auditing and evaluating processes. To view the updated fee schedule, please visit the below link: http://www.greenseal.org/certification/forms_fees.cfm.

The GS-42 Standard establishes requirements for cleaning service providers, including in-house and external cleaning services, to create a green cleaning program that protects human health and the environment.

For the purposes of this Standard, green cleaning encompasses all indoor activities typically required to clean commercial, public and industrial buildings. Maintenance of exterior areas such as parking lots, grounds or picnic areas is excluded from the Standard, with the exception of areas directly outside building entryways. This Standard does not cover residential buildings. Residential Buildings will be covered under Green Seal''s upcoming standard, GS-49.

GS-42 requires a company to service at least one green account. A green account is considered one that uses environmentally preferable cleaners and has established policies and procedures.

The GS-42 Standard can be found at the following link: http://www.greenseal.org/certification/cleaning_services_gs_42.pdf.
