Green Seal sets “green” footprint on Inauguration Day 2009
WASHINGTON — Green Seal Inc. is participating in the Presidential Inauguration by certifying Neenah Paper''s Classic Crest, the paper stock for the Inauguration cards and providing Green Seal certified accommodations at the Four Points By Sheraton Points in downtown D.C and the Hyatt Regency Washington on Capitol Hill.
The inaugural invitations were printed on recycled paper called Classic Crest and Green Seal certified the paper product as made with a minimum of 30% post consumer fiber and that mill processes, including packaging are environmentally preferable.
“It''s a distinguished cream color,” said Bernie Hennessy, area sales director at Neenah Paper, with an inaugural seal at the top in gold. The curling black script, modified versions of Shelley Allegro and Kuenstler typefaces, begins, “The Presidential Inaugural Committee requests the honor of your presence. ...”
Green Seal certified hotels Four Points by Sheraton Washington D.C. Downtown and Hyatt Regency Washington on Capitol Hill qualify as a GS-33 lodging property. To meet the requirements, the hotels must demonstrate sustainable practices in the following areas:
o Waste minimization, reuse & recycling
o Energy efficiency, conservation & management
o Management of fresh water resources
o Wastewater management
o Hazardous substances
o Environmentally sensitive purchasing
