Green roof conference slated to educate contractors

WASHINGTON — To help contractors take advantage of the millions of dollars recently allocated on local and national levels to support green roof and green wall infrastructure in municipal buildings, the Washington Regional Green Roofs & Walls Conference and Training will take place June 1-2, 2010, according to a press release.

Held at the Ronald Reagan Conference Center, the Washington Regional Green Roofs & Walls Conference and Training will educate attendees on what policymakers are doing to make their buildings greener to meet the growing requirements of stormwater management, the release stated.

According to the release, Green Roofs for Healthy Cities, the General Services Administration (GSA), the U.S Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and others have pooled their resources to allow attendees to meet and interact with green roof installers and manufacturers, learn design principals and tour a variety of local green roof and green wall projects.

By attending the Washington Regional Green Roofs & Walls Conference and Training, you will learn how your company can become a competitive bidder for providing green roof and green wall products and design for federal buildings in your markets, the release noted.
