Georgia's 'singing janitor' to gain national exposure
ATLANTA — A Yeager Middle School custodian will graduate to the big time on Tuesday when he performs on the Rachel Ray Show, according to the Atlanta Business Chronicle.
Edward Bridges, a custodian for five years, is known as "The Singing Janitor" to the students of Yeager, routinely serenading students in the hallways, the article stated.
According to the article, Bridges was selected to perform on the Rachel Ray Show for a segment on people who sing at work, after he posted a YouTube video of himself.
"With this being a national show, I’m hoping something else comes of it," said Bridges.
"I''ll try to take advantage. I would love to sing the national anthem at a Braves or a Hawks game. But if it doesn’t, I’ll just keep singing. I love to sing," Bridges added.
