Georgia-Pacific to implement a supply chain solution

According to the article, Georgia-Pacific hopes to reduce sourcing cycle times and leakages in procurement spend through better monitoring, compliance and governance mechanisms.
The project will involve deploying an enterprise procurement data warehouse that will provide reporting, dashboard and scorecard capabilities to aid procurement executives with a focus on contract adherence, faster time to market and lower cost of ownership, the story stated.
The Procurement Solution, built on top of a core platform based on Microsoft technologies, is aimed at empowering procurement professionals to manage the organization''s direct and indirect spend, the story noted.
Steve Bakalar, vice president of information technology (IT) at Georgia-Pacific, said: "We chose Infosys to assist in the implementation of the Supply Chain Visibility and Collaboration Suite because we viewed their solution as the best fit to help solve both our business and technical reporting needs."
