ELKO, NV — A woman will now give out judgments in the very courtroom she used to clean, according to the Reno-Gazette Journal.
On Friday, Nancy Porter was sworn in as the first female district judge in Elko County''s history, the article stated.
According to the article, Porter becomes another in a long-standing tradition of family members working for the county.
Throughout her college years, Porter worked as the courthouse gardener during the summer, the article noted.
Porter also worked as a day janitor, cleaning out the courtroom in which she will now preside, the article added.
