Ecolab, a commercial cleaning and sanitizing product company, announced a 29 percent decrease in fourth-quarter net income, according to

Net income fell from $113.4 million in the year-ago quarter to $80 million, the story stated.
Quarterly net sales increased 3 percent from $1.439 billion a year ago to $1.483 billion, the story noted.
For the entire year of 2008, Ecolab posted a net income of $448.1 million compared to $427.2 million in 2007, the story added.
