Ecolab Inc. recently noted a fiscal third-quarter earnings increase of 15 percent, according to a
press release.
Profits increased from $126.2 million in the year-ago quarter to the current figure of $145 million, the release stated.
Revenue decreased 4.9 percent to $1.55 billion, nearly meeting revenue expectations of $1.56 billion from analysts surveyed by
Thomson Reuters, the release noted.
According to the release, international revenue increased by 1.2 percent in the three-month period.
Ecolab said its markets continue to suffer despite signs of recovery elsewhere in the economy; however, the company said it isn''t relying on recovery to post strong growth, but rather is working aggressively to gain market share and keep costs under control, the release added.
