The outreach program provides early childhood music education to children ages 2-7 in statewide schools, daycare centers and preschools, serving nearly 600 children last year, the release stated.
Program President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Kate M. Ransom said: "This grant will provide crucial financial support to the Music School''s outreach program, providing early childhood music education at no or reduced cost to students. This program is a critical component of our mission to provide music excellence for everyone, regardless of financial means. We are grateful to DuPont for their support of music education for children in our community."
Roughly one-third of the Music School''s students come from low-income families, the release noted.
