District decides against outsourcing option
LAKE FENTON, MI — Lake Fenton Schools have decided not to outsource six custodial positions, according to The Flint Journal.
The school board, looking to reduce the budget, explored the idea of contracting out custodial services, which currently costs the district around $165,000 a year, the article stated.
According to the article, the bids the district received from contractors were the same or more expensive than in-house services.
"We bid it and found out we couldn''t save," said Superintendent Wayne Wright.
