District custodians charged in scam
AUSTIN, TX — The director of custodians for the Leander School District and three substitute custodians are accused of being involved in a scam that paid custodians for work they didn''t do, according to The Statesman.
Over a period of six years, the custodians in question were paid more than $139,000 for work that they never actually completed, the article stated.
According to the article, the substitute custodians, Rafael Munoz, Zoila Munoz and Marco Peraza, were each charged with theft.
The three custodians also collectively paid director Michael Daniel Madriga $325 for each pay period they had not worked, the article noted.
