Disabled janitor inducted
BLOOMFIELD HILLS, MI — A longtime janitor at Brother Rice High School will be inducted into the Silver Society, according to The Oakland Press.
Michael Cassidy, a janitor at the high school for 26 years, will be inducted into the association created in 2006 to honor faculty and staff who have given the school more than 25 years of service, the article stated.
According to the article, Cassidy was born with a heart condition that led to open heart surgery at a very early age, but hasn’t let that stop him.
Following his graduation from Farmington High School, Cassidy was hired by Brother Joseph Grimaldi as part of Brother Rice’s maintenance staff, the article noted.
Cassidy will be honored on Tuesday, May 29, in front of the school after Mass at St. Regis Church, followed by a luncheon in the school for family and faculty/staff, the article added.
