Custodian questioned about bad checks
LAWRENCE, MA — A Lawrence Public Schools custodian took the stand in the investigation of the administration of Mayor William Lantigua, according to the Eagle-Tribune.
Jose Rivera, a custodian at the Leonard School, was questioned about a number of "bad checks," but declined to comment as he left Salem Superior Court with his lawyer, the article stated.
According to the article, allegations investigators have been looking at include bid rigging, suspicious out-of-state travel, illegal swapping of city-owned cars, corruption and campaign finance violations.
