Custodian pockets $50,000 with lottery win

August 8, 2012

ATLANTA — A Miller County Schools custodian is the big winner in Fantasy 5 from the Georgia Lottery after all five of his numbers matched those in the August 2 drawing, according to WALB-TV.

Wilmon Kelly, a 40-year veteran for the school system, won a prize of $50,000 that he and his wife will use to pay off some bills before saving the remainder, the story stated.

Kelly, who claimed his prize earlier this week at the Georgia Lottery District Office, said, "It felt pretty good. I called my son to verify it was correct. He was amazed and surprised, too."

All Georgia Lottery profits help pay for specific state educational programs, netting more than $13.6 billion since its inception, the story noted.
