April 28, 2011

WINNIPEG, MB — A Children of the Earth High School custodian was injured after an elevator at the school dropped suddenly, according to the Winnipeg Free Press.

The custodian, Don Kinash, and a Winnipeg police officer, Leon Decaire, were immobilized, removed from the school and taken to the hospital with undetermined injuries, the article noted.

"The elevator had started moving, there was a bang and it dropped," said Principal Lorne Belmore.

"It dropped to the concrete floor below. The drop would be anywhere from eight to 10 feet," Belmore added.
