Custodian dubbed local hero
CORNING, CA — Corning High School custodian Alvin Coleman has recently been honored as a local hero due to his dedication to the job, and the school, reported The Corning Observer.
Coleman has worked at the school for the past 13 years, yet has lived within the community for the past 50, according to the article.
Coleman had a series of jobs, from working construction to working at a Wal-mart distribution facility, the article stated.
"I like helping people and making things happen. I was looking for a job that had retirement. Something that was close to home and something that I could do that would make it so I could be involved in the community," said Coleman.
