County looking at million dollar mold removal estimate
HUNTSVILLE, AL — After a mold outbreak in a Colbert County office building caused employees to break out in a rash, officials have to decide the most cost effective move, according to WHNT-TV.
In one proposal, suggested improvements included a new ceiling and completely gutting the board of education section of the building, at a cost of nearly $1 million, the article stated.
"The [concerns] center around making sure the county spent taxpayers money wisely which, obviously, we''re gonna'' do. We''re not gonna'' go out there and put too much money into a 50-year-old building," said Colbert County Commission Chairman, Troy Woodis.
According to the article, the commission also looked in to purchasing a new building but escalating costs has put that on the back burner as well.
