Council hires new City cleaning service
November 11, 2010
KEMMERER, WY — The Kemmerer City Council and Mayor met last Monday at Kemmerer City Hall to discuss City janitorial contracts, according to the Kemmerer Gazette.
The first order of business was to contract out for the city''s cleaning/janitorial services: In October, the city requested proposals from anyone who may want to receive the city''s cleaning contract, the article noted.
A committee from the city made a decision amongst the four received proposals and presented that choice to each of the city''s department heads, the article stated.
According to the article, the council could either accept the committee''s preferred choice, reject it and choose another, or reject the proposals and request official bids: Under state statute, the city was not required to request bids for something that would cost less than $3,500.
