College finds ambassador in custodian
ORLANDO — Even after 30 years as a part-time custodian, Steven Addison isn''t ready for retirement, according to the Orlando Sentinel.
Addison, who has been employed by the Seminole State College of Florida for the past three decades, was recently promoted to a full-time custodial position, the article stated.
According to the article, Addison is officially a custodian on the Sanford/Lake Mary campus, but unofficially he''s known as the College Welcome Ambassador.
Due to a severe speech impediment, it is often difficult to understand what Addison is saying, but anyone who has come in contact with him says that the ever-present smile on his face conveys his greeting perfectly, the article noted.
"He''s an incredible man. Everybody loves him," said Joe Sarnovsky, vice president for administrative services and chief financial officer at the college.
